Bruce A. Jentner, CFP®, President
Bruce Jentner, founder of Jentner Wealth Management, is a leader in wealth management thanks to his proven financial strategies and the growth of Jentner Wealth Management over the last 30 years. Bruce was named one of the country’s top 250 financial planners by Worth magazine, and Jentner Wealth Management is often featured in leading financial media, including the Wall Street Journal, Financial Advisor, InvestmentNews, and AdvisorOne, as one of the top wealth-management firms and RIAs in the nation.
Bruce’s success has made him a frequent speaker for organizations such as the Financial Planning Association, Financial Management Association, Ohio Society of CPAs, American Business Women’s Association, Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce, University of Akron, and Akron Tax and Estate Planning Council. Bruce is often quoted in the financial media and was featured in a Wall Street Journal article in 2015. The article discussed Jentner’s philosophy of ignoring market predictions and, instead, creating a globally diversified, low-cost portfolio. It also explained how Jentner regularly reviews clients’ portfolios for rebalancing opportunities to bring them on target by selling overweighted investments and buying underweighted investments. Bruce currently serves on the Executive Advisory Board for the Mercy Economic Development International Corporation and is a member of the Akron Tax and Estate Planning Council. He is an alumnus of Leadership Akron, past president of the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the Financial Planning Association, a former member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce as well as the Chamber’s Small Business Council, and a former member of the Ohio Governor’s Small Business Advisory Council. Bruce Jentner founded The Jentner Corporation in Akron, Ohio in 1984 because he saw a need for wealth management offered on a fee-only basis. The firm was started with a model that allowed it to provide financial advice to clients without having to purchase investment or insurance products. Jentner built its reputation by earning the trust of clients through unwavering integrity, disciplined investment management, and exceptional customer service. In 1998, Jentner Wealth Management became a fee-only firm. This transition means that no financial products are sold, and all advice is provided on a fiduciary basis 100% of the time for 100% of clients. At the same time, Jentner’s investment philosophy changed from the conventional active-management approach to employing globally diversified, passively engineered, low-cost investments. The Jentner team made this change because historical data exposed that even though an active investment manager might periodically have a successful track record, it is nearly impossible to post superior long-term returns through stock and bond picking. Since that time, Jentner Wealth Management has grown to a firm of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals who serve clients and endowments throughout the nation with investments under management totaling more than $350 million. Jentner Wealth Management provides both financial planning and investment management to individuals, families, and trusts. Jentner Global Management is a specialized division that provides institutions with investment-portfolio management services, including portfolios customized specifically for endowments and foundations. A third division, Jentner Portfolio Management, specializes in serving clients with less than $1.5 million of investments. Bruce became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional in 1985 and is a magna cum laude graduate of Kent State University. |
